Huddled within the ‘Royal Courts Of Justice’, my anticipation to meet the macho Gurkha stereotype was met with an air of anguish and exhaust. A lack of positivity was evident, with stooped veterans who once served loyally for ‘this’ country- frustrated with the lack of Justice. The ongoing case for equal pensions for Gurkhas seemed to drain each mans face. A random picking of three Veterans allowed in the courtroom, the other 200 restricted to wallow in the corridors hopelessly. Where is the justice? I composed these portraits with dignity. Hope is evident. However, the British courts decision was to reject the case seeking equal pension rights for former soldiers.
